1.The Short Version
If you are not happy with a paid Jaabni subscription, email us within 14 days of the charge and we will refund it in full. No form to fill in, no reason required, no restocking fee, and nothing about how much of the product you used.
This policy covers the Pro plan and Team plans. It applies to your first charge and to every renewal charge after it. The rest of this page is the detail — what happens to your account, how long the money takes, and what your rights are if we say no.
This policy forms part of our Terms of Service, where the same commitment appears in Section 7.4. If the two ever appear to disagree, read them together — they are meant to say the same thing.
2.Who You Are Buying From
Jaabni subscriptions are sold and processed by Paddle.com Market Ltd, who act as Merchant of Record for every transaction. Paddle handles payment processing, sales tax and VAT, invoicing, and refunds. We never see or store your card details.
Two practical consequences worth knowing:
- Your bank statement will show Paddle, not Jaabni. If you do not recognise a charge, that is usually why.
- You can ask either of us. Contacting Jaabni is the faster route because we can look up your account, but Paddle's own buyer support can also handle a refund request directly, and Paddle may issue a refund on their own initiative where consumer law requires it.
3.What Can Be Refunded
Within 14 days of a charge: a full refund of that charge, for any reason or none. This applies to monthly and annual subscriptions equally, and to Pro and Team alike.
After 14 days: charges are non-refundable, except where applicable consumer protection law requires otherwise, or in the specific cases below. Cancelling stops the next charge rather than refunding the last one — see Section 9.
We will also refund outside the 14-day window when:
- You were charged after cancelling, or charged twice for the same period. These are billing errors and we refund them in full whenever you find them, with no time limit.
- We terminate your account without cause. In that case you receive a pro-rated refund for the unused part of your paid period, as set out in Section 14.3 of the Terms.
- A sustained outage or defect meant the Service did not work for a meaningful part of a period you paid for. Tell us what happened and we will make it right.
One thing that is not refundable, so it is better said plainly than discovered later: an unused team seat. Team plans are sold in packs of ten and the pack is charged whether or not every seat is filled.
4.How to Request a Refund
Email and include:
- The email address on your Jaabni account
- The date of the charge you want refunded
That is everything we need. You do not have to explain why, and we will not ask you to sit through a retention conversation before we process it. If you would like to tell us what went wrong we will read it carefully, but it is not a condition of your refund.
If you would rather not go through us, you can request the refund from Paddle directly using the receipt they emailed you at the time of purchase, or through their buyer support at paddle.net.
5.How Long It Takes
We respond to and process refund requests within 5 business days of receiving them. In practice it is usually much faster.
Once approved, Paddle returns the money to the original payment method. How quickly it appears is up to your bank or card issuer rather than us — typically 3 to 10 business days, and occasionally longer for international cards. Paddle emails you a credit note when the refund is issued, which is your confirmation that it has left our side.
If more than 10 business days have passed since that credit note and you still cannot see the money, contact us and we will chase it with Paddle on your behalf.
6.What Happens to Your Account
A refund ends the subscription it paid for. Your account moves to the free plan, which keeps working — the extension, your notes on this device, and the free plan's limits of 50 notes and 1 reminder.
Your notes are not deleted. Notes stored on our servers under a Pro plan remain on your account. What changes is what the free plan lets you do with them, so before asking for a refund it is worth exporting your notes to CSV from the launch pad — it takes a few seconds and it is your data either way.
If you want your data removed entirely rather than just downgraded, you can delete your account from your profile page, which permanently erases it from our servers. That is a separate action from a refund and we will never do it on your behalf without being asked.
7.Team Subscriptions
A Team refund is requested by the team owner and covers the whole subscription. Individual seats are not refunded separately, because seats are not sold separately — they come in packs of ten.
Refunding a Team subscription closes the team. Every member returns to the free plan, and notes that were shared with the team revert to personal notes belonging to whoever wrote them. Nothing is deleted, but shared context stops being shared, and comments on team notes are removed along with the team.
Because this affects everyone on the team rather than only the person asking, we will confirm with the owner before processing a Team refund. Please tell your team before you request one.
Adding seat packs mid-period is charged by Paddle on their standard proration. Removing packs takes effect at your next renewal and is not refunded for the current period.
8.Free Trials and the Free Plan
The 30-day Pro trial does not ask for a card and does not charge you, so there is nothing to refund and nothing to cancel. If you do nothing when it ends, your account simply returns to the free plan.
The free plan is free permanently. It is not a trial and it does not expire.
You are never charged automatically at the end of a trial. A Jaabni subscription only ever starts because you chose a plan and completed a checkout.
9.Renewals and Cancellation
Subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel. Paddle emails you a receipt for every renewal.
Cancelling is not the same as a refund. Cancelling stops the next charge and lets you keep access until the end of the period you have already paid for. A refund returns money you have already been charged and ends the subscription. If you want both — your money back and out now — say so and we will do both.
You can cancel at any time from your account settings, or by emailing us. We do not hide the cancel button, and cancelling never requires contacting support.
A renewal charge is covered by the same 14-day window as your first charge. If a renewal caught you by surprise, email us within 14 days and we will refund it.
10.Founder Pricing
Founder pricing is limited to the first 1,000 members, and it is held for the life of the subscription that claimed it. It is worth knowing what a refund does to that.
Refunding a founder subscription returns your founder seat to the pool for someone else to take. If you later resubscribe, you pay whatever the current price is — the founder rate is not held open for you, and if the 1,000 seats have gone in the meantime it will not be available at all.
This is not a penalty for asking for a refund. It is simply what the limit means: the seat belongs to a subscription that is being paid for, so when the payment is returned the seat is too. Cancelling without a refund does not have this effect — a founder who cancels keeps the founder rate if they come back.
11.When We May Decline
We would rather refund someone we suspect than fight over a small amount, so this list is short and we apply it sparingly. We may decline a refund where:
- The request falls outside the 14-day window and none of the situations in Section 3 applies.
- The account was terminated for a material breach of our Terms of Service — for example illegal use or abuse of a teammate. Section 14.3 of the Terms sets this out.
- There is a clear pattern of subscribing and refunding repeatedly on the same account or payment method.
If we decline, we will tell you why in plain terms rather than citing a clause at you, and we will tell you what you can do next.
Nothing in this section applies where consumer protection law gives you a right to a refund regardless. Statutory rights win over this policy — see Section 12.
12.Your Statutory Rights
If you are a consumer in the European Union or the United Kingdom, you have a statutory right to withdraw from a distance contract within 14 days, under the EU Consumer Rights Directive and the UK Consumer Contracts Regulations. Our 14-day policy is written to meet that right, and we apply it to everyone regardless of where they live.
Consumers elsewhere may have equivalent rights under their own local law. Nothing in this policy, in our Terms of Service, or in anything our support team tells you limits or waives a right you have by law. Where this policy and your statutory rights differ, your statutory rights apply.
Because Paddle is the Merchant of Record, they are also bound by these obligations as the seller, and may issue a refund to comply with them independently of us.
13.If You Disagree With a Decision
Reply to us first and ask for it to be looked at again. Most refund disagreements are a misunderstanding about dates or which charge is being discussed, and they resolve in one email.
If you are still not satisfied, you can escalate to Paddle as the Merchant of Record, using the receipt from your purchase. Paddle can review the transaction independently of us.
We would ask you to try both of those before raising a chargeback with your bank. A chargeback takes weeks and locks the account while it is open, whereas an email to us takes days at most — and if you are within the 14-day window, there is nothing to dispute in the first place. But your right to contact your bank is yours, and this is a request rather than a condition.
